Candid New Years

Happy New Years everyone! Here are a few pictures of our little new years party of two. We had a lovely diner at this amazing restaurant and tried to order desert somewhere but it failed. We came back to our lovely little apartment to drink French sparkling pink lemonade and listen to our complete Sylvie Vartan record collection. Stéphane lost his voice so staying home and listening to records and watching movies was what we did for New years. Yup we are simple like that :)

Happy New Year's Eve

and we'll see you in 2011 xoxo

New Year's Eve outfit #2

So tomorrow night I'm going to be hitting up Susanne Bartsch's New Year's Eve party at the Delano Hotel in South Beach, Miami. I honestly thought I'd be spending NYE quietly with my girlfriend and our dog and brought nothing down here appropriate to wear! (of course I hit the stores today!) Anyways this Lis.B Jumper by designer Betina Holte is what I'd wear if I owned it. It's sleek and sexy but super comfortable which means dancefloor friendly! And I think Katy looks amazing in it! This is from our shoot at EVA NY one of my favorite boutiques in New York. It's curated by genius Stephanie Pappas and is really all about upcoming and edgy designers.

On a break between haircuts outside Pimps & Pinups this guy told me that he'd just come back from vacation in Los Angeles. He also told me that John Hoad now lives in NYC....

New Year's Eve dress #1

In addition to being able to find so many people with great style to photograph in the city the other thing I love in NYC are all the smaller boutiques around town with designers you don't necessarily find elsewhere. I got together with Katy, a blogger who writes about food and fashion on  Sugarlaws and stopped by Honey in the Rough on the Lower East Side for a little photoshoot.  We decided to put together looks that are perfect New Year's Eve or other parties. In these photos Katy is wearing the following:
Dress: "Lurex Paisley Print Dress"
  Designer: Thread Social
  Origin: New York
  Martierial: Lurex and Silk

Necklace: "Queen Fringe Necklace"
  Designer: Iosselliani
  Origin: Rome, Italy
Material: 18k Gold Plating, Gunmetal Plating, Sterling Silver

Bracelet: "Gold Twist Bracelet"
  Designer: Iosselliani
  Origin: Rome, Italy
Material: 18k Gold Plating, Sterling Silver, Swarovski Crystals
I love how boutiques curate their collections and we had alot of fun going to a few different stores. Tomorrow I'll show you something completely different from EVA NY.

A little something for the Dudes

I added some new vintage items for men in my etsy shop, sizes for all different kind of guys. Please visit my shop to view details on each of these amazing vintage items!

Masks as the new sunglasses?

With the ongoing popularity of sunglasses and spectacles that are more like sculptural objets d'art for your eyes (think Mercura or Coco & Breezy) it is not outside the realm of possibility for people to substitute masks such as this one designed and worn by Andre Benton. While not everyone could get away with it during the day I can completely see this trending in the nightlife scene.

Size 50" knitting needle's

I remember from my childhood that size 8 needles are the average size, your mum or your grandma would use to knit you a nice bulky jumper. The needles he needed to use, large enough to manage this yarn he told me "felt as big as broom sticks to knit with". He sells them at his store at Etsy and when he lets me have the link I'll add to this post. He was so nice and even let me try his scarf on.

Then, I saw his whole look which was so many great layers: below

3 so Charming

Basic black always works in NYC. Especially love the studs and gloves.

My beautiful collar

The lovely Tara-Lynn of Yarnovermovement was so nice to take these amazing shots of her wearing her YeYe collars. The first one is the Cream Peter Pan lace model and the second one is the limited edition Italian Cotton Sateen print collar. I love how she styled them and how great they look with her amazing Markham Loop Collar. She just opened her New shop on Big Cartel and is having an amazing sale, I have fallen in love with her collar, I think I may get one for myself and so should you ;)

Thank you Tara-Lynn your such a doll!

Candids from Christmas

Here are a few silly pictures from Christmas eve when Stéphane and I exchanged gifts and some from the road on the way to Sherbrooke(Stéphane's home town). I baught a pretty purple dress for Christmas day, I love how the hem of the skirt curls.

I just came down with a nasty cold, I am hoping it won't last very long, I have so much sewing to do this week!
