A little white dress...cute or on thin ice?

I took this photo because her all white ensemble in the dark room caught my eye. It's certainly refreshing to see white at night somewhere other than below the nose, but the length and fullness of the skirt makes me think of a skating costume...or maybe it's the opaque tights she's wearing. The detailing on top though is really nice. And him? He's cute.

Saturday Streetstyle

I hope you are ready for a lot of streetstyle inspiration, as I am now bombarding you with fabulous photos of amazingly well-dressed women for this week's "Saturday Streetstyle" post. At the moment, I am loving flowy, dreamy dresses, skirts and trousers; something that is shown in many of these pictures. I especially adore Hanneli's white, bohemian dress by Peter Jensen!

Bklyn Couple with Great Hair + Cat Eyes

Spotted these two while walking home from the subway. Since I don't reside in that self-consciously fashionable neighborhood that shall not be named (but you know where I mean!) I loved coming across two such fabulous looking people mere blocks from my abode!
I'm especially loving the cat eyes makeup and the snake earrings- which remind me of the door knocker earrings popularized by hip-hop culture in the '80s but on a more sophisticated level.

The Royal Wedding: Kate Middleton in McQueen

I know that I was not the only one who held by breath for slightly too long when Kate Middleton stepped out of the car in front of Westminster Abbey earlier today. And she was an absolute dream! An elegant, stunning and incredible bride. A perfect princess taken straight out of the most wonderful fairy tale. Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen created an exquisite gown, and I love how it reminds me of Grace Kelly's wedding dress.

Designers gave their praise to Sarah Burton's design. Karl Lagerfeld stated that "She (Kate Middleton) is very elegant. The dress is classic and goes very well in the Westminster decor. It almost reminds me of (Queen) Elizabeth's wedding, the royal weddings in the Fifties. The proportion of the train is good. The lace is very pretty. I like the veil a lot."

Christian Lacroix exclaimed: "I like the dress very much, simpler than expected: A combination just in between 1956 Grace Kelly and 1947 Queen Elizabeth dress. I love the modest veil with the Queen Mother's Thirties scroll tiara and balanced volume of the whole gown. She's radiant; she never was so beautiful."

What do you think of the Kate Middleton's wedding gown?

At the beach back soon...

Because of the Royal wedding, in the UK most people seemed to have wangled up to 11 days off, with the frivolities continuing till next Tuesday but we'll try to get out before then....Best Robert, Luisa & The Tucs
Meanwhile I love Persol and below a great pair of Persol from Seth Bradley collection at  zone7style
Thought to be from the early days of the company c.1920's and I love the nautical references

The always luscious Ladyfag

Okay, I normally have a rule about posting photos where someone is cut off: that I just don't do it because it's a tragedy to not see the shoes! But I thought Ladyfag looked so good here how could I not share it with you?!? Also I've recently posted some lovely but a little conservative fashion and want to get back to sharing a bit more nightlife style with you. So enjoy!

Di doo dah!

Ive been having a hard time taking outfit pictures outside lately the weather is out of control, one minute it rains and the next it's pretty sunshine with a cold breeze in the air. Alas I have an amazing boyfriend who will help me out with my mini shoots in Montreal alley ways. I got this dress back in the cold months of Winter and did not wear it till now. I picked it up from my amazing friend Sarah who runs Cheapopulence vintage on Etsy and by appointment in Montreal. This hat print was screaming my name! Be sure to check out her shop she updates all the time with amazing vintage treasures.

I was wearing:

-Vintage 70s Novelty printed hat dress, from Cheapopulence Vintage :)
-Leather tooled mini backpack, souvenir from Cuba from my mother
-H&M black tights
-Nine West Wedge heels, thrifted
-Lip rouge by Lime Crime in Retro Futurist
-Nails done by me using Sally Hansen Nail Effects

Two Cute

Sometimes couples seem to "match" and it feels too thought out and saccharine. And sometimes it just seems like they have similar tastes...these two seem to fall into the latter category. And I love that she's wearing oxford shoes at night!

Kasia Struss by Josh Olins for H&M Magazine S/S 2011

For their spring 2011 edition, H&M Magazine have created a range of various looks for the coming season. Stylist Ludivine Poiblanc has dressed up Kasia Struss in looks from biker boho to sensually sweet to punk chic, and Josh Olins has captured Kasia in the clothes superbly. I have fallen deeply in love with the orange suede jacket. It will look even more amazing together with sunkissed skin. And that red blazer is so stunning - the pin detailing looks so good.

Lacoste + Catherine Malandrino

When I think of Lacoste I am back to my childhood and the little alligator polo shirts the popular kids wore. Alas, they were out of our budget and my ever practical mother figured why pay the extra money when you could get the same thing sans the 'gator at JC Penney's? Then, thankfully, the preppie trend went away and I was no longer tormented by the alligator. But now it's back. And thanks to the collaboration with designer Catherine Malandrino it's better than ever.  You can't see in this photo but this dolman sleeved top has not one but TWO alligators facing each other (or "kissing" as my friend Sean noted). And I am loving how it's paired with these casual yet chic white harem pants. So there just might be an alligator in my closet in the very near future!

Emma Stone & Freida Pinto Celebrates at Louis Vuitton

Last night, Glamour magazine celebrated its May 2011 issue at the Louis Vuitton Rodeo Drive boutique in Beverly Hills. The issue has three different covers, featuring Emma Stone, Freida Pinto and Ashley Green. The cover stars attended the party at Louis Vuitton, where Freida Pinto stood out with a cute Peter Pan collar and Emma Stone sparkled in sequins.

Freida Pinto was dressed in a Louis Vuitton jumper from the A/W 2011 collection, teamed together with a Louis Vuitton Sofia Coppola clutch. Emma Stone wore a dress from the Louis Vuitton pre-fall collection, together with a clutch from their luxury brand. I absolutely adore this dress, and especially the top-half, as I am addicted to sequins.

Who was the best dressed in your opinion; Freida or Emma?
